Round 1 is 1 v 4, 2 v 3.
Who plays whom, and when
The top teams meet 1 v 2 in round 3 and round 6, 1 v 3 in round 2 and round 5 and 2 v 3 in round 1 and round 4. The last round is 4 v 3, 2 v 1.
Home games: every team has exactly 3. Home and away alternate round to round.
How long it takes

If your field changes
Dropping to 3 teams gives 6 fewer games, in the same number of rounds. Going up to 5 teams gives 8 more games, and 4 rounds longer. Teams drop out the week before more often than they join, so print one sheet for the next size down.
